Motor Insurance Database Updates

You are required by law to update the Motor Insurance Database.

In order to comply with the 4th EU Motor Insurance Directive, you are required and responsible for updating the Motor Insurance Database (MID). You must provide the registration numbers and model details of all vehicles that you own that will be driven, used or parked on a road or public place which are covered by your Motor Trade policy.

Please follow the instructions to update the MID for your insurer.

Please note: If your vehicle is moved to referral by the MID, Tradex will need to check the submission and provide commentary on the outcome. Please email [email protected] to notify Tradex of any referrals.

To update the MID, please visit https://mid.ukisltd.co.uk . You’ll need to register an account before you add vehicles. You’ll also need to capitalize the first letter of both your first name and surname (for example: Joe Bloggs). Please also include the space within your post code.

  • If you fail to remove a vehicle from your Motor Trade Policy it stays on the Motor Insurance Database in your name.
